Umphrey’s McGee kicks-off their 2011 Summer Tour on May 27 with three nights at Summercamp in Chillicothe, IL, where the band will debut – debut Huey Lewis and the Rumors, a new collaboration featuring Umphrey’s McGee, a full horn section, and of course, the legendary Huey Lewis. Having just wrapped up a monumental fall tour, Umphrey’s McGee today announces early 2011 tour plans. The band will begin their winter adventures with their 4th annual destination event, this year in sunny Mexico, where 1000 fans will join them for the sold-out Mayan Holidaze. Soon after, Umphrey’s McGee embarks on a two-month tour that takes them from coast to coast. Read more
Umphrey’s McGee’s innovative Stew Art Series (aka, “S2”) – an interactive fan experience where audience members “conduct” the band’s live improvisations – continues to garner industry attention for its ground breaking approach to building the ever-important band/fan relationship. Umphrey’s McGee announces today a collection of new music to be released this fall. In a departure from the standard “album” format, Umphrey’s will instead offer up the highly anticipated new material via a series of digital EPs. To get fans warmed-up, Umphrey’s is offering a free MP3 download of the band’s brand new, yet-to-see-the-light-of-day song “Wellwishers.” Folks can download it here, and while there can snatch up the Wellwishers widget to easily share it with their friends. September 20, 2010 — Umphrey’s McGee and Martin Sexton perform a double-header concert webcast on Sunday Oct. 3, live from the soundstage of Ex’pression College for Digital Art in Emeryville, CA.
The concert is hosted by CreativeAllies.com, an online design community that lets anyone submit art in official design contests for high-profile artists including M.I.A., OK Go, Amanda Palmer, Jack Johnson and Thievery Corporation. Read more
Today, Umphrey’s McGee rounds out their fall tour plans with newly confirmed dates in Kalamazoo, Michigan; Champaign, Illinois; Burlington, Vermont; Washington D.C, and others. Also announced today, Umphrey’s McGee will spend New Year’s Eve in their hometown of Chicago for one more year, this time at the city’s Riviera Theatre on December 29, 30 and 31. Cloud 9 Adventures is proud to announce the lineup and details of Mayan Holidaze – the newest event in the Cloud 9 family, which includes the always sold-out Jam Cruise and Caribbean Holidaze. The past three years have seen Holidaze in Jamaica but this year, Mayan Holidaze will move the all-inclusive musical adventure to the beautiful shores of Mexico’s Mayan Riviera. On the heels of big plays in Amsterdam and Australia, and still buzzing from the ground-breaking first annual UMBowl in Chicago, pop prog rockers Umphrey’s McGee today unveil their complete summer 2010 tour schedule.
The band’s summer plans include stops at festivals throughout the country: Bonnaroo, Summer Camp, Wakarusa, Summerfest, and All Good, among others. Additional tour highlights include a highly anticipated Colorado visit – for a July 3 “Red Rocks & Blue” show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with Galactic (w/ Cyril Neville) and The Wailers and an intimate play on the 4th of July at the Gothic Theatre, and an opening stint for Widespread Panic on July 13 at LC Outdoor Amphitheater in Columbus, OH.
