Tim Easton’s forthcoming album Not Cool is a tightly wound gearbox of tunes that showcase his influences, including Doc Watson, Elmore James, and Keith Richards. A compelling live performer, Easton recently re-located from Joshua Tree, California, to Nashville, where he recorded Not Cool in five hard-charging days with producers and long time collaborative team Robin Eaton and Brad Jones.  Says Easton, “It was the easiest time I’ve ever had in the studio.” Read more

Beat The Beat is Easton’s sixth release and his first effort recorded (and produced) with a traveling band comprising Easton, Aaron Lee Tasjan (guitar & piano, Madison Square Gardeners), Mark Stepro (drums, Ben Kweller), and Alex Livingston (bass, Grand Champeen). It was mixed by Grammy® winner Steve Christensen (Steve Earle, Joe Sample).  Easton’s direction and depth of craftsmanship shine on Beat The Band – one foot standing firmly in the history of American folk music, while the other strides deftly into lush pop harmonies and song constructions.
