Jamgrass favorites Rumpke Mountain Boys have announced a 2013 fall tour with very special guests David Gans (host of Grateful Dead Hour) and Elliot Humphries & Be The Moon appearing in select cities.  The tour kicks off with Gans at the award winnning quartet’s home base – Stanley’s Pub in Cincinnati, OH on Tuesday, November 12th and includes stops in Columbus, OH, Morgantown, WV and Lexington, KY before performing at The Bluebird in Bloomington, IN on Saturday, Nov. 16th at The Bluegrass Ball, where Gans and RMB will share the stage with The Travelin’ McCourys w Bill Nershi, The New Old Calvary and White Lightning Boys. Stanley’s has been supporting live original music in Cincinnati for over 20 years and the summer music festival is our way of getting together some of the area’s best bands and musicians that have played at Stanley’s over the years and will continue for years to come. This year’s lineup includes some of the most popular local and regional artists and is the strongest lineup in 12 years. A Fire With Friends, the 7-piece indie-rock darlings from Scranton, PA, will be touring the mid-west and east coast this August. The band will be promoting their EP “Like Giants Sleeping in Basements” which includes their single for “Electric Chair Blues” that recently received national attention by being featured on Fuse TV. In addition to promoting this EP the band will also be playing new material off their soon to be released album “Ghost House”. The band has toured extensively over the past four years and has shared the stage with many other great musicians and friends including The Front Bottoms, River City Extension, HRVRD, Koji, and The Menzingers. Col. Bruce Hampton has been making music since he formed his first band in 1963. The Colonel has been in constant motion ever since leaving a trail of memorable live performances with his many bands, including The Hampton Grease Band, The Late Bronze Age, and The Aquarium Rescue Unit (ARU.)

During the ARU days, The Colonel helped start the 1990’s H.O.R.D.E. Festival with Widespread Panic, Phish, Blues Traveler, and Spin Doctors. Read more

Cincinnati, OH -    On May 21st, award winning bluegrass group The Rumpke Mountain Boys will be welcoming Grateful Dead Hour syndicated radio host, songwriter, and author David Gans to their weekly show at Stanley’s Pub in Cincinnati, followed by shows in Indianapolis, IN, Lexington, KY and Louisville, KY, culminating with both acts performing at Dark Star Orchestra’s Dark Star Jubilee music festival in Thornville, OH.

Brought together by their love of The Grateful Dead’s music,7-time CEA (Cincinnati Entertainment Awards) winner for best bluegrass group The Rumpke Mountain Boys and David Gans first met at a music festival, which has led to memorable on-stage collaborations whenever their paths would meet over the past several years.   The evening will start with a solo set by Gans, followed by a set by The Rumpke Mountain Boys, with Gans joining in for what’s sure to be a can’t miss performance. Grateful Dead Keyboardist Tom Constanten Comes to Cincinnati’s Stanley’s Pub on 10/25

A part of Rock and Roll history will be coming to the intimate surroundings of Stanley’s Pub (323 Stanley Ave) in the Columbia-Tusculum area of Cincinnati as they welcome Grateful Dead keyboardist and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Tom Constanten with Terrapin Flyer on Thursday October 25th, 2012.

Constanten performed with the Grateful Dead during their most creative and prolific era 1968 – 1970 and was inducted with them into the presitigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. He and Grateful Dead bassist met while studying music at Berkeley College and the two of them became fast friends because of their mutual interest in Classical and Modern music. Read more
