The heavy NYC dirty funk 4-piece TAUK is hitting 2014 with their unique blend of experimental melodic prog rock and sexy grooves. The group consists of Matt Jalbert (Guitar), Charlie Dolan (Bass), Alric “A.C.” Carter (Keyboard-Organ), and Isaac Teel (Drums). The quartet is currently in the studio with legendary Grammy-Winning Producer Robert Carranza (Mars Volta, Jack Johnson) to craft their sophomore full-length album — due out Summer 2014. Carranza explains, “What’s compelling is the raw power of the band, from their light moments to full-out jamming. Jeff Austin announces winter tour behind Yep Roc solo debut ‘The Simple Truth’ – Madison Theater TONIGHT 2/12
The Jeff Austin Band will start the new year with a series of shows in Colorado before hitting the road in earnest in 2015. The initial tour dates in January and February focus on the Midwest. In March the band teams up with the Travelin’ McCourys featuring Bill Nershi for The Road to DelFest mini-tour; the two groups will perform at the Brooklyn Bowl on March 4 before making stops in Ardmore, Pa., Washington D.C., and Charlottesville, Va.
The crackling new Jeff Austin Band, featuring long-time collaborator Danny Barnes on banjo and guitar, guitarist Ross Martin, and bass player Eric Thorin, played their first sold-out show last October at Mississippi Studios in Portland, Ore. “This is it. This is the band. We’re here and we’re focused,” singer, songwriter and instrumentalist Austin says with glee about his handpicked ensemble. Read more
Dopapod Announce Nationwide Spring Tour, Debut Bonnaroo Festival Performance – Madison Theater On 2/27
After an amazing New Year’s run that began 2015 with a packed audience in Worcester, MA, Dopapod is exploding out of the gate for the year announcing a lengthy spring tour along with the news of their debut at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. Multiple night stands highlight the spring run with weekend-long stints at The Sinclair in Boston April 17 – 19 and April 24, 25 at the Brooklyn Bowl.
All of this exciting news follows the release of the band’s fourth album, Never Odd or Even – out in late 2014. The band’s most fully realized work to date, the new songs embody the energy and cohesion that Dopapod has developed from playing live as well as an increasing comfort and familiarity while in the studio.
