The Wood Brothers have announced tour dates this summer with Lake Street Dive. The Nashville-based band—who received a Grammy Award nomination in the “Best Americana Album” field for their 2018 release, ‘One Drop of Truth’—will team up with Lake Street Dive for six shows beginning at The Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, NC on June 7. Since Lake Street Dive’s February 2016 release of Side Pony on Nonesuch Records the band has been a tour de force, hitting some major career milestones. They were invited to play at the White House, were musical guests on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Today Show. Lake Street Dive was featured on Chris Thile’s hosting debut of A Prairie Home Companion, among many other high points that include sold-out shows at the iconic venues like the Wang Theatre in Boston and Radio City Music Hall in New York. Lake Street Dive’s Nonesuch Records debut album, Side Pony, produced by recent Grammy winner Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell), was recently released to critical acclaim, selling out multiple shows within minutes of their on-sale. Lake Street Dive find themselves on the cusp of stardom, though they insist they will always be the same people whose stage outfits once consisted of matching sweater vests. “We realize this could all go away tomorrow,” says Rachael Price. “But that won’t change what we do. We want to continue to do this for a long, long time. This is what we love. We just want to make sure we keep enjoying ourselves.”

Lake Street Dive have been performing for nearly a decade after meeting as fellow students at the New England Conservatory in Boston. The band was hand picked by Minneapolis trumpet/guitar player Mike Olson and named after an actual neighborhood of seedy bars in his hometown. Vocalist Rachael Price came from outside Nashville, Tennessee, stand-up bassist Bridget Kearney was an Iowa native, while drummer Mike Calabrese called Philadelphia home. “I wasn’t only impressed with their musicianship,” says Olson, who acquired the nickname “McDuck” while at the conservatory for his reclusive ways. “They were also a lot of fun just to hang out with. The first four years of rehearsals were more like glorified dinner parties.” Read more

Lake Street Dive are excited to announce their upcoming winter tour, beginning on February 06 at The Mug at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, one night before their performance at Carnegie Hall in New York.. The tour runs down the East Coast before heading west, where the band will play a show at Los Angeles’ famous Troubadour Theater on March 15. The tour is capped off by a return to New York with two nights at Bowery Ballroom on March 31 and April 01. The band is also playing a handful of dates to close out 2013.
