Come get zombified/possessed on October 18th at the Southgate House Revival (111 E 6th St, Newport, KY). 500 Miles to Memphis and friends are throwing a horror-themed party to celebrate the season. Aside from a night of KILLER music and gory movies, renowned special effects makeup artist, Amber Johnson will be applying FREE zombie/deadite makeup to all that attend. Want victory curls or liberty spikes? Nicole Hogle from Dew or Dye Salon will be doing free hair stylings. There will also be free photos provided by photographer extraordinaire, Whitney Denman.

Formed in 2003, the boys of 500 Miles to Memphis came together on the banks of the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Newport, KY. Their genre-bending take on americana and punk rock has been received world-wide in the form of movies, tv, video games and their award-winning live shows. Logging 250 performances a year, these indie road kings have been to hell and back. After taking a short break from touring in 2017, 500 MTM has jumped back in the studio to deliver their 5th studio album, Blessed Be The Damned with producer John Pedigo (Old 97’s) at the legendary Gwynne Sound in Cincinnati. If you are familiar with 500 Miles to Memphis you know that they are a band that rocks but also has country roots in their sound, incorporating instruments that are traditionally associated with country music; lap steel, fiddle, banjo and mandolin.  As a matter of fact, singer-songwriter/guitarist (and founder of the band) Ryan Malott chose the band’s name inspired by the distance of his hometown (Bethel, OH) to the town of Memphis, TN, where arguably American roots music was born. Cincinnati’s country-punk kings, 500 Miles to Memphis are currently working on a project called the Basement Bluegrass Sessions this summer and releasing audio/video to fans. They are recording bluegrass versions of their music and a few cover songs which will culminate in a 6-song free bluegrass digital EP.  Read more
