The Cincinnati Entertainment Awards ceremony, featuring live performances and award presentations, returns to Covington’s Madison Theater on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015. Seasoned Conductor Makes Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Debut For Annual Classical Roots Concert On 3/20/15

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra announces acclaimed conductor, composer and pianist Charles Floyd will lead its hugely popular annual Classical Roots concert on Friday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Music Hall. Mr. Floyd will lead the full CSO, along with the Classical Roots Community Mass Choir which is comprised of over 100 singers representing dozens of area churches. While more program details and soloists will be announced at a later date, the multi genre concert will include elements from the classical tradition as well as gospel, R&B and folk music, all celebrating the rich African-American musical heritage and bringing together friends and neighbors for a shared concert experience. The Greater Cincinnati Performing Arts Society (GCPAS) will presents the California Guitar Trio with guest bassist Tony Levin to the St. Xavier Performance Center Saturday January 31 at 7:30 PM. The concert is part of a series presented by GCPAS with proceeds supporting tuition assistance programs at Catholic elementary schools.

California Guitar Trio (CGT) is a band of three guitar players founded in 1991. The three—Paul Richards of Salt Lake CityUtahBert Lams of Affligem, Belgium, and Hideyo Moriya of TokyoJapan—met at a 1987 Guitar Craftcourse, in which Robert Fripp instructed them in the New Standard Tuning (NST). After completing several of Fripp’s Guitar Craft courses, the three toured as part of Robert Fripp and The League of Crafty Guitarists. Read more
