Mudcrutch’s highly anticipated forthcoming album 2 is out today. 2 is turning out to be much more than a sequel to the band’s eponymous 2008 debut and a classic in its own right. The album premiered on NPR’s First Listen and is receiving stellar reviews across the board.
Mudcrutch was initially formed in 1970 in Gainesville, Florida and is the precursor to the legendary Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Tom Petty (bass/vocals), Tom Leadon (guitar/vocals), Benmont Tench (keyboards/vocals), Mike Campbell (guitar/vocals), and Randall Marsh (drums/vocals) make up the band’s current line up. Read more
The John Hartford Memorial Festival Songwriting contest top five winners have been selected and will perform in a main stage showcase on June 3rd at the festival. Songwriters were challenged to write a song using John Hartford song titles. The contest was cut off at 25 entries. 1st place went to Eric Davis from Boulder CO., with his Zen Blues acoustic finger picked song, ”John and His Full Moon Mind”. Read more

Carl Verheyen, recognized as “One of the World’s Top 10 Guitarists” by Guitar Magazine and “One of the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time” by Classic Rock magazine, as well as guitarist for music legends Supertramp, will bring his three-member Carl Verheyen Band on a June tour of North America, stretching from Chicago and Toronto down to Florida. And in September the CVB will play the western coast of the USA. This comes after the band’s European Festival tours in 2015 and the recording of a new release called “The Grand Design.” Read more
