Spring Hookahville (XXVIIII) 2008 News
May 23 - 26, 2008

ekoostik hookah, hookahville, schwa, cincy groove

Spring hookahville 2008 will be taking place at Legend Valley Music Center in Thornville, OH (about 30 miles east of Columbus) from May 23 - 26, 2008.

Music this time around will be on Saturday (5/24) and Sunday (5/25) with Early bird admission on Friday (5/23).

You can also visit hookahville.com to see the history of this festival. This year 2008 is bringing up hookahville's 29 and 30. Not too many festivals can attest to having a longevity as hookahville has had. My opinion might be a little biased, as I have been to 22 consecutive hookahvilles. I always look forward to this every year, its a great time to see some great music, camp under the stars and see all your friends. I will be posting any new information as it becomes available.

Hookahville Packing List
I thought I would throw together a list of things I usually bring to hookahville, to help remind some of us whose memories aren't so good anymore lol and to help any first timers. If possible put everything in plastic tote containers. No matter how much it might rain everything you have will stay dry. A wagon is also useful for hauling in all your gear. I probably left some things out but thats most of what I bring. I know you don't need all the things listed below to have a good time at hookahville, but why not be comfortable?

--Camping tent
--Canopy Tent - this is important especially if you are not lucky enough to catch shade in the trees, you can find cheap ones for around $30, it might only last a few festivals, but for $30 who cares?!?
--Pillow
--Sleeping Bag, blankets
--extra socks - this is very important as well, ask anyone that was at Mudville
--flashlight
--sunglasses
--food
--lots of water
--gatorade
--sandals, shoes
--rain jacket and boots
--duct tape
--rope
--camping chair
--cooler
--hammer
--pocket knife
--camera
--coleman camping grill
--extra propane
--pots and pans
--coffee
--sugar, cream
--Coleman Coffee Pot (the best $40 I have ever spent)
--air mattress
--plastic tarps

Hookahville Golf Outing
* Thursday May 22nd at 1:00PM at Raccoon International Golf Course in Granville, Ohio
* Cost and info to come but it's usually about $30 to play, including a cookout at the course after.
* Format is teams of 4 people and this is a scramble (each team uses their best shot), shotgun start (everyone begins more or less at once at a different hole)
* There's a trophy for first place.....come on out and get ready for Hookahville!

Hookahville Motorcycle Ride
The Hookahville motorcycle ride to Hookahville meets at the High Beck Tavern on the corner of Beck and High St. in Columbus. Riders will meet on Saturday May 24th between 11AM and 1PM and ride at 1PM to Legend Valley. It's about a 30-45 minute ride.

If you are doing early bird camping - and who wouldn't be - you can bring your bike to Hookahville, camp Friday night and ride on over to the High Beck Friday morning. Lots of people do it....maybe even enough to have a mini-ride FROM Hookahville to the High Beck for the big ride....

High Beck Tavern - 564 S. High St - Columbus, OH 43215 - (614) 224-0886
