Blue Caboose

A year and a half after first bringing their unique Americana, folk and bluegrass sound to the Queen City, Blue Caboose will be releasing their first long playing album of songs on Saturday, August 18.  The album, Modern Limited, showcases the broad variety of musical styles and instruments that Blue Caboose audiences have grown accustomed to hearing live.  Twelve of the thirteen songs were written by the band, including the bluesy “Back to Ohio” and “Trying Times”, the Old Timey fun of “Swim Swim Swim” and the socially conscious, pseudo-reggae of “(I Wanna Know My) Farmer’s Name.”  Modern Limited is rounded out by an unconventional reworking of the traditional song, “Keep My Skillet Good And Greasy” (made famous by Uncle Dave Macon) that throws in everything but the kitchen sink.

To celebrate the release of Modern Limited, Blue Caboose is staging a special show this Saturday, August 18, at MVP Bar and Grille featuring two sets by the band, with help from Josh Eagle, Sassy Molasses, Smokin’ Bees and various other friends from the Cincinnati Music Scene.  Show starts at 8pm.  Admission is $10 and includes a copy of the Modern Limited CD. Ages 18 and up.
