Rusted Root to perform at The Taft Theatre on July 20, new record this fall

July 3, 2012 (Brooklyn, NY)  The quintessential live band, Pittsburgh’s Rusted Root, are happy to announce that they will be performing at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati on July 20th, all ages, 8pm showtime. Cincinnati band Grooveshire will open the night.  Buy tickets here.

Pittsburgh’s hometown heroes became a band twenty years ago started by Michael Glabicki (lead vocals, guitar), Liz Berlin (vocals, percussion), and Patrick Norman (vocals, bass, percussion.) They’re known for their fusion of bluegrass and rock as well as their inspired use of percussion that is drawn from African, Latin America, Native American and Middle Eastern influences and defies categorization.  Over the last several years they have sold more than 3 million albums worldwide and they have toured the world and the US with Toad the Wet Sprocket, Santana, The Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews Band, The Allman Brothers Band, HORDE Festival and, perhaps most notably, the highly coveted support role on the landmark Jimmy Page/Robert Plant reunion tour.

Rusted Root has been on the road supporting their current release “Stereo Rodeo” for the past few years.  They’re recently decided ithat they would record a new album this winter and decided it only made sense to reach to to their community. Michael Glabicki, founder and frontman of Rusted Root best explains why the Fortunate Freaks Unite! campaign. “Rusted Root is a state of mind shared and explored by many people- we are a community that supports one another. The fans are as much a part of this as anyone. It is an interesting time in history and fan funding is a great way to point out the obvious; we are a band that relies on the energy of our fans.” With the ever changing music industry, Rusted Root has returned to their roots, and plans to release their newest album independently Fall 2012.

This grass roots effort offers the fans many differant levels of involvement in return for a financial contribution towards recording. It offers a bunch of sponsorship levels with great perks including some very cool once in a lifetime opportunities with Rusted Root. Each package ranges in price and items. Perks vary from digital items to signed memorabilia to private online shows, to having Rusted Root play live in one’s living room.  All of the money raised will support the production, recording and marketing the next Rusted Root album due for release Fall 2012.
