Partridge is one of the most respected songwriters in Mobile; he is rapidly gaining national and international attention for his second full-length recording, Cotton Fields and Blood For Days.  It has received rave reviews, including a lengthy feature on AL.com, and debuted in April at # 19 on the EuroAmericana Radio Chart. The influential U.K. music blog The Rocking Magpiesaid, “Like the very best of his ilk Partridge is no ‘one trick pony’…it’s his haunting acoustic ballads about his home town ‘Out of Alabama Blues’ and ‘The Ghosts of Mobile’ that make him stand out from his contemporaries and peers; and not just because he sounds like every single word comes from the darkest recesses of his worn out heart.”

Partridge is also gaining recognition for his folk art, which are primarily acrylic paintings on tar board and linocut/ink pieces. He was recently featured in Creative Loafing, saying “The artwork, acrylics on tar board, illustrate the discrepancies Partridge has observed in life, two-dimensional parables of a three-dimensional world. Rudimentary in execution, with phrases like ‘Colors are all that matter when you are already outside the lines’ (also a line from the first song on his new album) or ‘Some songs put a devil in your flowers,’ the paintings are dark, though not as dark as his songwriting. ”

Skate Mountain Records is based in Mobile, Alabama, and was founded in 2016 by film and music producers Scott and Kate Lumpkin.  It is distributed by The Orchard (digital) and Burnside Distribution (physical).  In addition to Abe Partridge, the roster includes Avi Jacob,Jimmy Lumpkin & The Revival, The Red Clay Strays and The Underhill Family Orchestra.
