Held annually on the first week following Memorial Day, at the Bill Monroe Music Park, Bean Blossom, IN, the John Hartford Memorial Festival, “The Most Laid Back Festival in America”, is on a mission to preserve and continue the legacy, music, and ideals of John Hartford; one of America’s most beloved songwriters, performers, and musicians.
2017 JHMF7 Band Competition
How can your band join the lineup for “The Most Laid Back Festival in America”? Enter the JHMF Band Contest! Registration for the inaugural John Hartford Memorial Band Contest is now open. Twelve bands will compete for cash prizes totaling $2,000 and an opportunity for a Hartford Stage slot in 2018. In addition to prizes, all selected band members will be provided with a full festival pass to the 2017 John Hartford Memorial Festival. Gather up your friends, tune up the instruments and hold another band practice. But you’d better get with it. Registration ends Tuesday, February 14th at midnight. The twelve final contestants will be notified via email by Tuesday February 21st.
