The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra welcomes the award-winning country singer and songwriter Sara Evans for her Pops debut for a three night all-American program at the Taft Theatre on Friday, Nov. 4 (8 p.m.), Saturday, Nov. 5 (8 p.m.) and Sunday, Nov. 6 (2 p.m.). Known for her “classic Nashville” sound, the multi-platinum star will perform hits like “Suds in the Bucket,” “Born to Fly,” and “A Little Bit Stronger” all bathed in full orchestral colors with the Pops.

Conductor John Morris Russell will begin the program with orchestral music proudly invoking the musical ethos and history of America with works from such composers as Stephen Foster (including some featured on the wildly popular American Originals recording released last year) and Aaron Copland. Copland’s iconic Fanfare for the Common Man, a work commissioned and premiered by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra during WWII, highlights the program. Mr. Russell will be available each night after the concert for CD signing in the lobby.

VIP experience packages with Sara Evans, which include a premium seat, a meet and greet and photo op with Ms. Evans, a Sara Evans merchandise gift and an autographed printed photo, are also available for purchase through the Pops Box Office.

“Here at the Cincinnati Pops, the unique American experience is at the heart of just about everything we do,” said Mr. Russell. “The Queen City is situated, both geographically and culturally, at the crossroads where bluegrass meets gospel, where classic German chorales intertwine with Appalachian folk melodies, and where Stephen Foster, James Brown, The National, Over the Rhine and Walk the Moon were all inspired. As we explore together this amazing tapestry of American music, we begin by opening our ears to Cincinnati’s music that continues to resonate around us all.”

Tickets for this concert start at just $25 and are available by calling the Pops Box Office at (513) 381-3300 or visiting www.cincinnatipops.org.
