Concord/CMG recording group The Record Company has announced plans for a truly epic US headline tour. The “Off The Ground Tour” – which marks the Los Angeles-based rock-and-soul trio’s biggest headline trek to date – goes wheels up on September 25 at Seattle, WA’s famed Tractor Tavern and then travels through mid-November (see itinerary below).

Widely regarded as a fantastic live band, The Record Company proved conquering heroes at this year’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, prompting Rolling Stone Country to name the trio’s set among the event’s “5 Best Country and Americana Moments” while declaring it “a wildly energetic show and one of the most communal experiences of the festival.” The band will precede the “Off The Ground Tour” with a marathon summer schedule highlighted by headline shows, support dates alongside Gov’t Mule and Blackberry Smoke, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and Concord labelmates Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, as well as festivals including Milwaukee, WI’s Summerfest (June 30), Quincy, CA’s High Sierra Music Festival (July 2 and 3), Portland, OR’s Waterfront Blues Festival (July 4), Boston, MA’s Outside The Box Festival (July 16), Camden, NJ’s XPoNential Music Festival (July 23), Rowayton, CT’s Rowayton Summer Music Festival (July 31), Johnstown, PA’s Flood City Music Festival (August 5th), Billings, MT’s Magic City Blues Festival (August 6), Winter Park, CO’s 6th Annual Leftover Salmon’s SolShine Festival (August 13), Nashville, TN’s Live On The Green Music Festival (August 25), Del Mar, CA’s KAABOO Del Mar (September 16), and Burlington, VT’s Grand Points North (September 18). “Off The Ground” – the lead single from The Record Company’s acclaimed debut album, GIVE IT BACK TO YOU – is fast shaping up as a major breakthrough having recently spent two consecutive weeks as the #1 track at Triple A radio outlets nationwide – topping new songs from such superstars as The Lumineers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Avett Brothers. The striking “Off The Ground” companion video – directed by Kelly Teacher and The Record Company – is streaming now at the band’s official YouTube channel.

The Record Company made a striking live TV debut earlier this year with a powerful performance of “Off The Ground” on TBS’ Conan. Additional appearances are slated for the coming months and will be announced soon.

Both The Record Company and GIVE IT BACK TO YOU have received a tidal wave of ecstatic critical praise in recent months, with Entertainment Weekly enthusing, “the scuzzy, 10-track set meshes the group’s biggest influences – the early electric blues rock n’ roll of John Lee Hooker, staccato lyrical delivery akin to The Stooges frontman Iggy Pop, and Rolling Stones-style grooves.” Rolling Stone declared The Record Company to be among ’10 New Artists You Need To Know,” hailing “their stomping debut album” while rightfully noting, “It would be unfair to label the lean, deliberate three-piece as a simple blues-rock band.”

GIVE IT BACK TO YOU shines a light on a group whose sound owes less to the West Coast city in which it was created and more to the backwoods juke joints that songs like ‘Hard Day Coming Down’ evoke,” raved Rolling Stone Country. “The blues may be nothing new, but The Record Company wring new life out of old traditions.” “Raw emotion, dedication, honesty and hard work,” wrote Paste. “These are just some of the words that best describe Los Angeles rock trio The Record Company.” “(The Record Company) mix greasy garage rock, fat blues and classic roots,” declaredBlurt, “for a timeless sound that could pass for late ’60s Stones or the latest from the Black Keys.” “Whether you play this album from front to back or on shuffle,” noted Glide, “it’s a win-win gamble. (GIVE IT BACK TO YOU) provides a solid helping of rock n’ roll that cuts right down to the bone.” Perhaps Aquarian Weekly summed it up best: “GIVE IT BACK TO YOU is The Record Company’s Concord Records debut. It rocks like a bitch in heat.”

Founded in 2011 by Chris Vos (guitar, lead vocals, harmonica), Alex Stiff (bass, guitar, vocals) and Marc Cazorla (drums, piano, vocals), The Record Company immediately took their hometown by storm, hailed by LA Weekly for “making bluesy music that would sound more at home in a sweaty, backwoods Mississippi juke joint.”

Equally inspired by early electric blues as they are proto-punk and Americana, The Record Company hewed their contemporary take on classic rock ‘n’ roll by hanging some vintage mics in Stiff’s Los Feliz, CA living room, then as now the site of all of the trio’s writing, rehearsing, recording, and mixing. Two self-released EPs brought them national attention and radio airplay, as did a remarkable work ethic that has seen the band spend much of the past half decade on the road. Known as a unique and unstoppable live act, The Record Company have rocked countless headline shows, festivals, and radio concerts, while sharing international stages and spotlights with such luminaries as B.B. King, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Buddy Guy, Charles Bradley, Robert Randolph, The Wood Brothers, Social Distortion, and Blackberry Smoke.

Along with increasingly significant airplay at college and Triple A radio outlets across the country, The Record Company has seen featured play in a wide range of commercial, film, and television projects, including Showtime’s Shameless, ABC’s Nashville, CBS’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Miller Lite’s popular “Trivia” spot.
