The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) welcomes two guest artists for their CSO debuts during its next concert weekend 8:00 P.M Friday, Oct. 16 and Saturday, Oct. 17 at historic Music Hall. Conductor Seymon Bychkov, the conducting mentor to current CSO Music Director Louis Langrée, will lead composer Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The program will begin with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.3 in D Major, Op. 29, Polish which was first conducted November 19, 1875 in Moscow by his friend and iconic conductor Nicolai Rubenstein. The evening will conclude with a performance of Francesca da Rimini, Op.32. This symphonic fantasia was based on a tale of two lovers that faced a tragic end in Dante’s Divine Comedy.
This concert will also feature pianist Bertrard Chamayou. Chamayou is a world-renowned musician who has played with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, and many others. Chamayou has toured extensively throughout the United States and will be performing Richard Strauss’ Burleske in D Minor. Burleske replaces the originally scheduled work by Liszt, Totentanz.
