This summer, PACKWAY HANDLE BAND will join KID ROCK’S FIRST KISS: CHEAP DATE tour with very special guest Foreigner as the opening support act. The tour will visit 31 cities across North America, kicking off June 24th in Hartford, CT and wrapping-up in Seattle, Washington in early September.  Continuing a pricing model from past tours, tickets to the shows are moderately priced at $20.00 and each venue will offer $4.00 beer options.

Packway’s unique roots-grass styling first caught Kid Rock’s eye when the band played his annual ‘Chillin the Most’ cruise in 2014. Their energetic sets piqued his interest and he brought them back on the cruise in 2015 and subsequently added them to the 2015 summer tour.

Packway Handle Band formed in Athens, GA, in 2003 and includes Andrew Heaton (vox, fiddle), Josh Erwin (vox, guitars), Michael Paynter (vox, mandolin), Tom Baker (vox, banjo) and Zach McCoy (vox, bass).   Packway’s recent efforts include a collaborative project with celebrated singer-songwriter, Jim White, appropriately named, “ Jim White Vs. The Packway Handle Band,” which collaboration yielded the 2015 Yep Roc Records release, Take it Like a Man.

Bassist, Zach McCoy sees a parallel to this amazing opportunity and the band’s 2010 release entitled, What Are We Gonna Do Now?   He says, “I think I can finally answer that question: We are going to flood millions of ears this summer with the wisdom and charisma that is the Packway Handle Band! Seriously though, the reason we’re here is because of our fans, and we’d like to show our appreciation by being the best damn band we can be for them this summer. At least until Foreigner and Kid Rock take the stage.”
