The new record, which received 4 stars in Uncut Magazine is Hiatt’s twentieth solo album and follows his acclaimed 2010 release, The Open Road, which the Los Angeles Times heralded as a, “bluesy, heartland-soaked musical excursion.” Hiatt is on tour for the rest of the year with his band John Hiatt & The Combo, including these shows with Big Head Todd and the Monsters. About Big Head Todd and the Monsters
Earlier this year, in celebration of influential bluesman Robert Johnson (who would be celebrating his 100 birthday on May 8, 2011), Big Head Todd and the Monsters assembled the Big Head Blues Club. The “moving and wildly entertaining” (Boston Globe) collaboration featuring Big Head Todd and the Monsters and special guests B.B. King, Hubert Sumlin, Honeyboy Edwards, Charlie Musselwhite, Ruthie Foster, Cedric Burnside and Lightnin’ Malcolm toured earlier this year and released a studio recording of the project, titled 100 Years of Robert Johnson. USA Today hailed frontman Todd Park Mohr as having “muddy Delta dirt under his fingernails.” Recently Mohr has been laying down solo original blues tracks in the studio, and has been logging spontaneous musical rants in a blog series called “The Daily Blues” Check it out here: tpmvault.blogspot.com.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters has been on the road hitting some of their favorite summer stops – including Red Rocks Amphitheatre (this year with Guster). There are still more to come, including Chicago’s famed Ravinia Festival, Colorado’s idyllic Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, and others. For the complete list of tour dates visit www.bigheadtodd.com
