California’s Radical Something – Alex “Loggy” Lagemann, Josh “Cocktail” Hallbauer, and Michael “Big Red” Costanzo  – have debuted a new video for their summer single, “Cali Get Down” (view “Cali Get Down” at: http://youtu.be/MMfXH5scSEc).   Additionally, the band’s infectious track is available for purchase now at iTunes,Amazon and Google PlayHaving just concluded their “Summer of Rad Tour, Radical Something will next bring their one-of-a-kind stage show across the U.S. as part of Matisyahu’s 50 date “Built to Survive” fall tour. “Built to Survive” will take the acts coast-to-coast beginning September 16th (see dates below). From The Mamas and the Papas’ “California Dreamin’,” to The Beach Boys’ “California Girls” to Katy Perry’s (alternately spelled) “California Gurls,” to Joni Mitchell to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, musicians have been penning songs about their love for the Golden State for decades. “Cali Get Down” is Radical Something’s turn – a modern ode to the band’s beloved SoCal lifestyle. With a taste for the flavor of classic hip-hop, or a subtle nod to 2Pac’s “California Love” and The Notorious B.I.G.’s, “Going Back to Cali,” Radical Something created perfect summer brew with equal parts rock, pop, hip-hop and electronic music.

Lagemann says, “The song jumps around and touches on a few different topics, but overall the message is about everybody having fun and enjoying themselves, no matter who they are or the atmosphere they’re in. We see so many beautiful girls around the world rocking out at our shows, and they’re never afraid to get as crazy as they can. They remind us of girls that we grew up with and are close to in California, so the song just kind of came naturally from those experiences.”

The new video takes the California vibe and draws upon the band’s unparalleled swagger to create a comical video that features the band performing on top of a Los Angeles rooftop at sunset.  The video takes a turn when unsuspecting office workers and nursing home residents cut loose and “get down,” (some even “getting down” their undergarments) to turn their mundane day into an all-out dance party.

Lagemann explains, “The video plays off the song because it shows the role that music plays in squashing your inhibitions. The people we played the record for told us that they literally couldn’t help from moving around and dancing (no matter what social situation they were in), so we decided to show the transformative effects that ‘Cali Get Down’ possesses by focusing on some really outrageous scenes within the music video.”

Radical Something will be performing songs from their three self-released CDs that have spread rapidly throughout the US, including fan-favorite, “Be Easy” from their We Are Nothing EP, which currently has over 1.2 million views on YouTube.  The band’s debut EP No Sweat reached #6 on the iTunes overall album chart in February 2012. That summer, they released 12 consecutive singles as a part of their Summer of Rad song collection, which generated over 500,000 downloads and millions of streams. In September 2013, their follow-up album, Ride It Out, debuted at #3 on the iTunes Alternative chart and #9 on Billboard’s Heatseeker chart, led by the anthemic single, “We Were Just Kids.” Since March 2012, the group has headlined three national tours, selling out shows on the East and West Coasts. They have also supported shows for Capital Cities, Slightly Stoopid, SOJA, Gramatik, Krewella, Sammy Adams, 311, and Timeflies.
