“The Last Session on Brewster” is a film to be released in conjunction with Danny Adler’s new album. The title is also a new song that tells the story of King Records and the last session on Brewster literally. The Cincinnati USA Music Heritage Foundation is proud to provide this sneak peek and welcome Danny Adler to grace the Herzog space.
Danny Adler is a native Cincinnatian whose musical path has joined up with the likes of Charlie Watts, Philip Paul, Ian Stewart, Elvis Costello, Dave Van Ronk, Ed Conley and more. Adler has 40 albums on iTunes, and “Last Session on Brewster” is a new song off his new album recorded by Bill Gwynne.
Come at 7 p.m. early and check out the FOTOFOCUS photography exhibit featuring pictures of Herzog Studios and activities of the Cincinnati USA Music Heritage Foundation over the last few years, including when the foundation organized the efforts with then-Rock Hall President Terry Stewart and then-Councilman John Cranley to dedicate a King Records historic marker at 1540 Brewster.
BUT, you say you remember that the marker said “King Records: King of Them All was from 1943-1971”?
SO… doesn’t the last session at King have to be 1971? No!!!
Come see that recordings at King can still be made and join the movement to save King Records in the 70th anniversary year. And think that before the studio got built on Brewster, the King songs were cut at Herzog.
