Dawes Launch Brand New Covers Competition With Fender – Performing a sold-out show on 6/14 at Southgate House Revival

Los Angeles-based rock band Dawes have launched a new covers competition via http://dawestheband.com/covers where Taylor Goldsmith teaches fans how to play the band’s new song “From The Right Angle.” After having been asked by fans to provide song tablature, the band came up with this concept and wanted to show fans how to play a Dawes song rather than only share the chords. With the help of Fender, the band will be giving away a brand new guitar to the fan who creates the band’s favorite Dawes cover. To enter, fans can record a video of themselves playing the Dawes song that is taught in the video on the competition page and upload it to YouTube as a video response. Don’t play an instrument? Fans can also help Dawes find their favorite covers by “liking” each cover video on its YouTube video page. Enter the Dawes covers competition here: http://dawestheband.com/covers

Dawes are currently on tour making headlining and festival appearances behind their brand new full-length album, Stories Don’t End, an album NPR recently called “disarmingly beautiful” and a recordThe Associated Press deemed “a tour de force of cinematic storytelling.” Stories Don’t End was recorded in Asheville, NC, with Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings of Leon, Norah Jones) and was released in April via Dawes’ own label, HUB Records. Fans can enter to win tickets to these shows via the band’s official website (http://dawestheband.com/ticketgiveaway).
