Columbus based singer songwriter Carole Walker takes her blended unique sound of funk and soul to the 2013 Folk Alliance International in Toronto, Canada at the Delta Chelsea Hotel. Walker was selected to perform as a featured showcase artist for the GoGirls Music stage and will be playing Saturday, February 23rd at 10:30 pm.
Since 1989, Folk Alliance® has served as the headquarters for Folk Music and Dance. The annual event draws together music industry professionals from throughout the world to share ideas network and celebrate traditional music and dance. A fixture in the music community of her home town Cincinnati, Walker currently lives in Columbus, Ohio. Her recent shows in Columbus have been at Brothers Drake Meadery and Bethel Road Pub. Her upcoming shows in Cincinnati include Stanley’s Pub, College Hill Coffee House, and Pike’s Lounge in Covington. Walker has been a member of GoGirls Music for some time but noticed the absence of a support network for female singer-songwriters in Cincinnati and Columbus. In 2012, she worked with GoGirls to create the Cincinnati-Columbus GoGirls Music chapter and now leverages GoGirls to provide a networking platform to showcase the talent of female singer songwriters in this region.
