Southern Indiana-bred singer-guitarist Reverend Peyton is the bigger-than-life frontman of Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band. He has earned a reputation as both a singularly compelling performer and a persuasive evangelist for the rootsy country blues styles that captured his imagination early in life and inspired him and his band to make pilgrimages to Clarksdale, Mississippi to study under such blues masters as T-Model Ford, Robert Belfour and David “Honeyboy” Edwards. Cincinnati’s Dawg Yawp premiered their video for “Can’t Think” with Conan’s Team Coco. The video is their first to be released from their critically-acclaimed self-titled debut that was released last year on Old Flame Records.

“Can’t Think” was named one of the top 100 songs local NPR stations were playing in 2016. The track originally premiered via Consequence of Sound, who called Randall a “master sitarist” and said “…he brings the instrument into his songwriting to create sounds that can only be described as completely original.” Read more

R.Ring is Kelley Deal and Mike Montgomery. It is guitars, voices and keys. The music is sparse, abrasive, chaotic and lulling… often within the same song. It is a celebration of / departure from their work in their other bands (Kelley with The Breeders and Mike with Ampline).

On Ignite the Rest, R.Ring’s forthcoming debut full length, Kelley and Mike have enlisted the help of a few friends to flesh out some of the material. The bits of drumming that appear are courtesy of Laura King (Mac MaCaughan and the Non-Believers, Fleshwounds), Leo DeLuca (Southeast Engine) and professional skateboarder Kristian Svitak. The compelling cello arrangements are by Lori Goldston (Earth / Nirvana). Read more

And one day, you find yourself duetting with Bonnie Raitt, or standing onstage with the Allman Brothers at New York’s Beacon Theater and trading verses with Susan Tedeschi. You might even wind up getting nominated for a Best Blues Album Grammy — three times in a row. In addition to your six Female Artist of the Year/Koko Taylor Blues Music Awards. Read more
