The National to Perform and Campaign for Hillary Clinton in Cincinnati on 11/2

On Wednesday, November 2, American rock band The National will hold a Get Out The Vote (GOTV) performance for Hillary Clinton in their hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.  The event will be part of Hillary for America’s “Love Trumps Hate” performance series to get out the vote in the final weeks before Election Day on November 8. At the event, the band will perform and urge Ohioans to support Clinton and her vision of an America that is stronger together by voting early or on Election Day. Read more

Critically acclaimed fiddle player and singer-songwriter Amanda Shires will be performing at The Southgate House Revival in Newport, KY on December 4th at 8:00 pm. Shires’ new album My Piece Of Land, recorded by award-winning producer Dave Cobb, has garnered rave reviews since being released on Sept. 16th. Tropidelic was formed along the banks of the Cuyahoga River in Kent, OH. Fusing energetic funk, reggae and hip-hop, the group built a solid local after distributing over 10,000 free copies of their first EP, “Rebirth of The Dope” on street corners throughout the midwest. Brother-and-sister duo Wild Belle make folk-, dance-, reggae-, and psychedelic rock-tinged indie pop. Chicago-area natives Elliot and Natalie Bergman grew up playing music, with Elliot eventually studying jazz saxophone at the University of Michigan. Elliot and Natalie are two of four children born to musician parents, who brought them up in a house full of music. The siblings first started playing together in 2006, when Elliot invited Natalie to tour as a backup singer/percussionist with his Afro-pop band NOMO. The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra under the direction of Pops Conductor John Morris Russell presents “Peter and the Wolf” on November 19 at Taft Theatre, the first Lollipops Family Concert of the 2016-17 season. The concert will feature original illustrations by Cincinnati’s own C.F. Payne accompanying Prokofiev’s delightful musical tale, Peter and the Wolf. Angela Powell Walker, artistic director for the School for Creative and Performing Arts, will narrate the work. Read more
