Auditions for Cincinnati Opera’s 2015 Summer Festival Chorus will be held at the Corbett Opera Center in Music Hall, 1243 Elm Street, Cincinnati, Ohio on October 30 & 31 and November 1 & 2.
Audition times must be scheduled in advance. Interested persons may schedule an audition by contacting Lauren Bailey at firstname.lastname@example.org. Audition times will be assigned beginning October 6, 2014.
Email requests for an audition should include the following:
- Voice type
- Phone number
- Availability on audition dates (October 30 & 31 and November 1 & 2)
- Resume detailing performance experience
- Headshots appreciated but not required
Singers should prepare two (2) contrasting arias in the original languages. An accompanist will be provided. Read more
Don your kilt and join us for three days of mirth and magic at the 2014 Cincinnati Celtic Festival in Washington Park! Produced by 3CDC and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, the celebration runs from September 5 – September 7, and offers patrons an opportunity to savor plenty of traditional Celtic food, art, music and merchandise. Festivities begin Friday, September 5, at 6:00pm with music from Whiskey of the Damned, followed by Enter the Haggis.
Can’t make it Friday? Join us at noon on Saturday, September 6, for even more music and revelry, beginning with an official opening ceremony featuring the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. To call Christian Lee Hutson an old soul would be to deny the vibrancy of his sound. Hutson’s songs have been championed by LA Record as “sparse and graceful” and by Folkadelphia as “(Having) the feel of having been scrawled on whiskey-stained napkins while the house country band plays us into the lonesome night. A mass for the brokenhearted.” Hutson’s work – while rooted in country tradition – vibrates with a youthful energy, as if a drunk and sedentary George Jones was being channeled through a drunk and animated Conor Oberst. The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra will begin the 2014-2015 season at Music Hall with the family-friendly Disney Fantasia Live in Concert on Friday, September 5 and Saturday, September 6 at 8 pm and Sunday, September 7 at 2 pm. Conductor John Morris Russell will usher the Pops 2014-2015 season with the timeless music of Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy, the Suite from The Nutcracker and selections from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 &6. During the performance, footage from Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 will be displayed in high definition above the stage.
Accompanying the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, pianist Michael Chertock will be performing George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Read more
