After sharing the bill with Motion City Soundtrack this fall, the “infectious” (NPR) Jukebox the Ghost will embark on a national headlining this winter, playing their largest venues to date. CINCINNATI— With a foot in both the jazz and classical worlds, Branford Marsalis journeys fearlessly into new, exciting musical territories. The saxophone star and 2012-2013 Creative Director of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s Ascent Series makes his CSO debut on November 30 and December 1, following a week of varied residency activities. He performs Jacob ter Veldhuis’ dynamic Tallahatchie Concerto at 8 p.m. both nights at Music Hall. He will also sit with the Orchestra at the beginning of the concert program to perform the saxophone parts of Prokofiev’s sarcastic Lieutenant Kijé Suite. The performances, conducted by Jacque Lacombe, also include two works by American composer Samuel Barber: Night Flight and his Symphony No. 1. Read more

Well, it’s that time of year again. Black Friday. and the end of the year tends to have us examining our wish lists one last time. Without hesitation, here are the top ten DVD releases of 2012:

1. Electric Hot Tuna, Live at the Beacon Theater- Jorma’s 70th Birthday December 3&4, 2010   This one’s a keeper, great guest performances from Steve Earle, Larry Campbell, John Hammond, Oteil Burbridge, Bob Weir and Warren Haynes compliment stellar playing from Jorma, Jack Casady, Barry Mitterhoff and Skoota Warner. Just check out the scorching interplay on “Come Back Baby” and “Water Song.”  A concert for the ages.

2. Led Zeppelin, Celebration Day  Atlantic  Led Zeppelin’s groundbreaking 2007 reunion concert is captured with 16 cameras, providing crisp photography and ear shattering sound. The band lives up to the hype, rocking out to an explosive greatest hits/ FM radio staples set that never gets old as Page, Plant, Jones and Bonham combine to rattle and shake on “Black Dog,”"Kashmir,” and “Whole Lotta Love.” Read more

DOME PRESENTS proudly brings to you the 1ST ANNUAL NORTHSIDE RECORD FAIR in Cincinnati, OH on DECEMBER 1ST, 2012!  Join us at the HOFFNER LODGE at 4120 Hamilton Ave from 11am to 6pm to find two whole floors of 1,000’s and 1,000’s of amazing LP’s, 45’s, 7“‘s, 10“‘s, flexi’s, 8-tracks, cassettes, CD’s, DVD’s, zines, magazines, posters, and all sorts of fun music memorabilia.  Admission is only $5!  Any of you die hard crate diggers wanna get first dibs?  Early bird admission is only $10 and will get you in at 10am!!

If you are a record dealer, store owner, record label with a distro, or just have a few boxes of LP’s you need to get rid of and wanna be a vendor at the event, tables (6’x30”) are only $20 a piece.  You can find more info HERE.
