Todd Snider’s June 27 appearance at the 20th Century Theatre in Cincinnati, Ohio was a good reason to celebrate. Todd’s shows are always a kick ass experience, full of heartfelt jokes with stories about life and the road that often tap into the mixed up confusion buried deep inside the human condition. Early on, Snider started taking requests from the crowd, and he ripped into “Hey Hey” with instrumental precision and funky rhythmic control. The patrons inside the 20th Century were ready to party, and a full bodied chorus from the floor sang back to Snider on the classic, “Doublewide Blues.” Snider connected with his Cincinnati following on two songs from his 2004 release, East Nashville Skyline, the shuffling gem, “Play a Train Song,” and the hilarious “Conservative Christian, Right-Wing Republican, Straight, White, American Males.” Read more
CINCINNATI – (June 27, 2012) – Another new business will open its doors in Over-the-Rhine this Friday, June 29, 2012, in conjunction with Final Friday. The Grand Opening Celebration, from 6-9 p.m., will feature food and wine tasting and live music by Wild Mountain Berries.
Pet Wants, at 1409 Vine Street, is a second location for owners Michele Hobbs and Amanda Broughton. The first location, at Findlay Market, opened in 2010. Pet Wants features house-made wet/raw/frozen food for pets, made fresh once a month in Ohio, from its own gluten-free formulas. Read more
Chicago is set to launch a 25-date summer tour with support from the Doobie Brothers next month. The relationship between the two bands dates back to the early 1970s, with this summer’s tour marking the fifth time the legendary acts have hit the road together. Following separate sets loaded with their individual hits, the shows will culminate with a collaborative finale featuring classics from both acts. Read more

The Bunbury Music Festival announced today that it will allow kids 10 and under into the festival accompanied by an adult ticket holder (there is not a limit on the number of kids per adult and will be at the discretion of the gate attendants.)
Festival founder, Bill Donabedian expects 20,000 to 30,000 concert goers for each day of the three-day festival with headliners: Jane’s Addiction, Weezer and Death Cab for Cutie among the 100 live performances on six stages. Read more
