From December 27 – 31, 2011, Colorado-based Yonder Mountain String Band will headline The Boulder Theater in Boulder, CO. Special guests will include Futureman (of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones), Darol Anger (fiddle), Andy Hall (pedal steel, The Infamous Stringdusters), and Rushad Eggleston (cello). YMSB will kick-off the New Year with the Cabin Fever Tour heading to Southern and Midwest markets in February and March 2012. The band is currently touring in support of their latest studio album, The Show, and will showcase newly written material that’ll be featured on their forthcoming full-length album due out in 2012. Yonder Mountain String Band Announce NYE 2011 & Cabin Fever Tour 2012 – March 2 at The Madison Theater
One of the most original and energetic acts around today, Ohio-based national touring band ekoostik hookah is the nucleus of a family drawn to its lucid, improvisational treatment of psychedelic rock ’n’ roll, blues, funk, jazz and bluegrass layered with rich harmonies. Cincinnati, OH – The Cincy Winter Beerfest never disappoints and always proves to be a sell-out crowd of thousands from the Greater Cincinnati area coming to The Duke Energy Convention Center for a taste of the best beer around. The 5th Cincy Winter Beerfest is expected to continue the trend of sellout crowd for 2012 and expected to become one of the Top Ten largest craft beer festivals in the country. Save Our Strays (www.soscinci.org) was organized in 1998 to help reduce the number of stray cats and dogs in Greater Cincinnati through non-lethal methods. We are a non-profit, 501c(3) organization. We do not have a shelter, but, rather, foster animals in the homes of volunteers. Our goals are to help humanely control the local stray population by using the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) method for feral cats and adoption for cats and dogs when possible. Read more

(Newport, KY) After more than thirty years in continuous operation as a music and arts venue under the ownership and operation of Ross Raleigh, the Southgate House will host its last show on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2011.
“While we are deeply saddened to close 24 E. Third Street, it’s been a great run and it’s been a great privilege to be the steward of such a grand building all these years,” Raleigh said. “There have been many great memories made here, but the history is in the people and the music, not just the building, and the show must go on.” Raleigh hopes to relocate his business in 2012.
