Birthed deep in the heart of the Texas hill country, baptized in the Brazos, and fed on a steady diet of deeply American rock and roll, Gov’t Mule’s first album in three years has grown up to be “big and fat and nasty” (AMG).
It’s called ‘By A Thread’ and it’s out this week.
You can stream the full album in its entirety this week on AOL Spinner here:
Already hailed by the Washington Post as “the heaviest, and most aggressive… in years”
‘By a Thread’ is a thumping, blues-fueled rock album, with sharp songwriting and some of Mule’s tastiest and freshest playing yet on record.
Rolling Stone’s David Fricke says: “The songs are ready” — describing Warren Haynes’ guitar sound as evoking “Cream with lava and Hendrix wah-wah.” Read more here: http://bit.ly/MR9Pn Read more
String Cheese Incident keyboardist/songwriter Kyle Hollingsworth has been an avid home brewer, and a fan of microbrews and specialty beers, for many years. Now, as he winds his way through the country performing in support of his new solo studio release Then There’s Now (September 2009 / SCI Fidelity Records), Kyle blends his love of brewing with his love for music. In select cities along his current fall tour, Kyle teams up with local breweries for some very special “Brew Tour” events.
First up, on Wednesday, November 11th, watch a Live Brew Tour Webcast from the Magic Hat Brewery in Burlington, VT (where the Kyle Hollingsworth Band plays that night at Club Metronome). Log on to www.magichat.net/drinkme at 8pm to watch a special performance and interview live from the brewery. Kyle will also taste some brews with the Magic Hat brewing team. Fans who log in to the live stream can participate in a question/answer session via Twitter, Ustream, or email. Visit www.kylehollingsworth.com for more information.
On Saturday, November 14th, the Brew Tour stops at the Khyber in Philadelphia, PA, where Kyle and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery will host an exclusive meet & greet and tasting before the show that evening. The first 50 people who purchase tickets to the Kyle Hollingsworth Band concert at The Khyber will automatically be entered to win an invitation for two to the pre-show meet & greet. Tickets are on sale at www.thekhyber.com (contest closes at midnight Eastern Time on November 11th). Ten winners will be chosen and contacted by November 12th. Read more
