Cincy Groove: How did the two of you start playing together?
Native Run: After college the two of us met at church playing on the worship team together. It was divine intervention in a way.
Cincy Groove: What did you listen to growing up?
Native Run: (Bryan) I really started listening to music in the third grade. The kids on the bus were listening to Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis. Those were some of the first cds that I bought. There was a store called Waxy Maxy’s that my dad would take me to on the weekends. Eventually I started listening to metal music, bands like Metallica. Then came bluegrass, Nickel Creek, Infamous Stringdusters. Really all over the map for me. Read more

Kim Taylor, the Cincinnati-based singer-songwriter, is known for her folk-pop songs and haunting live performances. With three acclaimed full-length albums to her credit, she’s shared stages with artists ranging from Kris Kristofferson to Ollabelle and Grace Potter and has appeared on NPR’s World Cafe Live with David Dye.
Love’s A Dog (October 2013) is Taylor’s most recent release reuniting with producer/multi-instrumentalist Jimi Zhivago (Ollabelle) and drummer Devon Ashley (Lemonheads). Recorded at NYC’s Magic Shop (Rufus Wainwright) and mixed at Brooklyn’s Mission Sound, the 11 original tracks on Love’s A Dog explore loss and the complexity of human relationships. Read more

The Head and The Heart Release Enchanting Video For Sophomore Album Title Track “Lets Be Still” – Performing at The Taft Theatre On 12/12

The Head and the Heart’s sophomore album Let’s Be Still was released last October to hungry critics and fans alike who were awaiting the follow up to their self-titled breakout debut which featured such hits as “Lost in My Mind” and “Down in the Valley”. Since the albums release last year the band has been touring throughout the US, wowing crowds with their rowdy and inspiring live show. Now the band has taken a pause, releasing the fantastical video for their album’s title track, “Let’s Be Still” a beautiful dreamscape featuring a magical hot air balloon ride. The Lone Bellow will release their new album Then Came The Morning on January 27th, 2015. The album was produced by Aaron Dessner of The National and mixed by Peter Katis. The album features 13 songs written by The Lone Bellow and recorded in New York both at Aaron Dessner’s studio and Dreamland.
NPR Music revealed the first taste of The Lone Bellow’s highly anticipated follow up to their critically acclaimed self-titled debut. The first track released was the title cut, “Then Came The Morning.” “The Lone Bellow has lost none of its sleekly soaring charm. You’ll hear a band that’s climbed the Van Morrison family tree straight to the highest branch,” said NPR. The Track is available via iTunes and will also be released as a limited edition 7inch on Record Store Day’s Black Friday along with an exclusive B-side that won’t be on the forthcoming album.
